OmegaT is a free computer-assisted translation tool (CAT) or translation memory application written in Java. It is a tool intended for professional translators.

OmegaT has the following features among others:

  4. Simultaneous use of multiple translation memories
  5. User glossaries with recognition of inflected forms

  7. Unicode (UTF-8) support: can be used with non-Latin alphabets
  8. Support for right-to-left languages
  9. Integral spelling checker & Tag validation
  10. Compatible with other translation memory applications (TMX, TTX, TXML, XLIFF, SDLXLIFF)
  11. Extensive search & replace capabilities including regular expressions.
  12. Editable segmentation rules
  13. Interface to Google Translate (API v2) and other machine translation (MT) engines
  14. Team Project Feature
